Sweet, sweet succulents.
The cool, natural vibe of the coastal mountain area was the backdrop for Carly and Travis’s beautiful succulent-themed wedding. The couple said their “I dos” outside the gorgeous gazebo, with a stunning view of the surrounding coastal mountains, on the grounds of the charming Avila Village Inn.
In keeping with the succulent theme, Carly’s bouquet, the boutonnieres, and the bridesmaids’ bouquets, featured an organic blend of white flowers with cool green, embellished with clay succulents. Tiny clay succulents even dotted the bride’s headpiece.
Carly wore a white A-line dress with a delicate lace overlay and sheer lace sleeves which perfectly established the crisp, fresh, natural feel of the day. In flawless complement to the bride’s dress, Carly’s three bridesmaids wore floor length, spring green dresses. Each bridesmaid’s dress was a slightly different style, but all had a flowy, Grecian appearance.
Travis and his groomsmen wore simple navy suits, with light tan ties. The combination of the natural shades of tan and white, blended with the spring green and classic navy blue were reminiscent of the wild freshness of the coastal mountains that furnished the setting for their wedding ceremony.
After the exchange of vows, guests stepped over to the reception space, just next door at the Avilla Bay Club. Here, the couple continued the succulent theme by offering guests a wedding favor of a tiny, potted succulent plant that also served as escort cards. Each table was labeled with a number in elegant, gold, script font protruding from the centerpiece, a simple wooden box filled with succulents. Both the wedding cake and the cupcakes were adorned with edible succulents.
Carly and Travis included several personal touches to their wedding reception that referenced their love story. Clay dinosaurs could be found among the succulents, a reminder of the couple’s nicknames. The cake topper was the classic “Toy Story” quote, “Infinity and Beyond” set in the same gold font as the table numbers. Guests enjoyed a fun-filled evening of dancing, corn hole games, and a photo booth with clever props.
